Mercedes-Benz is the oldest luxury vehicle producer in the world and one of the largest car manufacturers both by volume and revenue. It was originally formed through the merger of Daimler Motoren Gesselschaft (DMG) and Benz & Cie in 1926. Emil Jellinek, an entrepreneur, was fascinated with DMG cars, so he ordered Daimler cars to become a DMG main agent and distributor and got to know its designers, namely Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach. Jellinek would later be known for his pseudonym “Monsieur Mercedes” after competing in races using high-performance Daimler cars. He eventually changed his name to Jellinek-Mercedes. The name “Mercedes” is the first name of Jellinek’s daughter.

When DMG and Benz & Cie merged, the iconic three-pointed star logo of Daimler was combined with the laurel wreath symbol of Benz. The laurel wreath connected the words “Mercedes” and “Benz”. The modern Mercedes-Benz logo found on the front fascia of its vehicles today pays homage to its origins. Mercedes-Benz is a brand synonymous with luxury, high-tech, and superior quality in the automotive industry. The following are some of the brand’s flag-bearing model lineups.
