The Mercedes-Benz SLK 350 is a roadster that was introduced by Mercedes-Benz under the second generation of the SLK-Class. The acronym “SLK” is composed of German words that translate to “Sporty, Light, Short”. The SLK 350 debuted for the 2005 model year with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produced 268 hp and 258 pound-feet of torque. A 3.0-liter SLK model would also be offered under the 2006 lineup, which was the Mercedes-Benz SLK 280.
The SLK 350 was offered until the 2016 model year, where improvements in power, handling, and fuel economy were realized. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz SLK 350 featured the same-size 3.5-liter V6 powertrain but had a boosted peak output of 302 hp and 273 pound-feet of torque. And unlike the debut model which was designed with a multi-link suspension for the front and rear, it now had been built with a strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension. Gas mileage had also improved by as much as 25 percent despite a slight increase in weight. As with other SLK models, the SLK 350 had a retractable hardtop with a sunroof and sunshade, making it heavier than most vehicles its size.

For the 2016 SLK-Class lineup, you could choose either the lower-priced SLK 300 or the higher-powered SLK 350. While both models came with luxury features expected from a Mercedes car, the SLK 350 had more top-tier inclusions. For the interior, these included a more immersive entertainment system with 11 speakers, power sport seats with memory and power lumbar support, a sport leather steering wheel, leather upholstery, and a leather shift knob.
How Many Miles Per Gallon Does a 2016 SLK 350 Get?
Despite the heavy weight and thirsty engine of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz SLK 350, it managed to get good gas mileage for a sports car. It was rated for 29 mpg highway, 21 mpg city, and 24 mpg combined.
